Avi's Biography...

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Has a college education in religious and secular fields of study from schools in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California.

Raised Jewish reform. In later adulthood, lived Jewish Orthodox. Today, Avi continues his studies in the Hebrew Torah, Prophets and Writings while pursuing advanced studies in the teachings of the scripturalist preacher and Messianic reformer Yeshua ben Yosef. Avi does not accept any teaching that requires submission to rabbinic oral law nor does he believe there is any authority in what is commonly called the Mitzvot d'Rabanan- the commandments of the rabbis, which consists of many legal works and traditions that are considered binding on religious Jews everywhere. Avi is married to Dina, a teacher of biblical Hebrew. Avi has a daughter and four grandchildren in the USA, a brother and family in Jerusalem, another brother, a psychologist, in Southern California and a mother who has spent many years as a professional television and movie actress, also in Southern California. Additionally, Avi has cousins and other relatives living in various parts of Israel. Avi had a 24-year old son Jonathan who served in the Israeli Army (IDF), Paratroopers 101 on the front lines of the 2005 Gush Gatif (Gaza) Jewish expulsion under then Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and also served on the front lines in the 2006 Israel/Lebanon War. Due to a number of mental and physical complications of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Jonathan died in the service of the Israel that he loved, on September 5, 2009.

Avi works as an Israeli State Licensed Tour Guide, guiding private groups in Israel, based on the principle, Don't just come to Israel to learn history; come to Israel to learn FROM history.

Background: professional training was 30 years in radio broadcasting and includes years as both a secular and religious music radio announcer and "disc jocky" (D.J), and later, a host of a few live religious talk shows, a financial news anchor for an established national satellite news network. Also, a creative writer, producer, and narrator for many secular and religious presentations in film and video, and a producer and narrator for many regional and national radio commercials.

Special Interests: writing, lecturing on religious topics, indoor and outdoor photography and producing and directing for videography, motorcycling in Israel and spending a little free time enjoying Israel's great outdoors.

  • Messiah II:

    Understanding His True Identity Through the Soul of the Torah. This book addresses the identity and expectations of what Mashiach would be through Judaism's ancient esoteric texts such as the Zohar, the Bahir, and the Sefer Yetzerah. 600 pages softcover.

  • Galatians Commentary:

    Available in the original 500-page book, as well as the Galatians Quick Reference Pocket Commentary. Addressing issues involving Paul and his teachings on the written Torah, his views forming a polemic against rabbinic authority and rabbinic halacha, and showing the true meaning of his famous phrase, "works of the law."
