Avi Ben Mordechai: Advocate of Adultery and Sin?
When ENOUGH is ENOUGH!
About two and a half years ago (July 2009), a most foul series of accusations went out against me, my name, and my character, via the Internet, from a certain Bruce Gorovenko, a.k.a. Baruch ben Daniel. These accusations have doggedly followed me over the past two plus years. During this entire time, although I and others have contacted Mr. Gorovenko privately about this matter, I've remained publicly silent, hoping and praying that Mr. Gorovenko would cease and desist from his works of double-dyed slander. Unfortunately, he has never done so, and in fact, has only intensified his attacks. To my wife Dina, I said, "enough is enough." Now, let Yehovah judge between the two of us and let Divine judgment stand true.

Towards Shavuot
From First Harvest to First Fruits
I have completed a new article about Shavuot, the counting of the Omer, and have included my opinion that concerns the divine festival when we should look for the coming of Yeshua haMashiach. For years, I believed that it was going to happen on some future Feast of Trumpets; that is, the first day of the seventh month, called in Hebrew Yom Teru'ah. However, I am now strongly leaning to the understanding that we should look for the coming of the Mashiach on a future Shavuot (Feast of Weeks) and that when the Brit haChadasha (New Testament) speaks of a harvest, it is speaking of the interval of forty-nine days/seven weeks in the count of the Omer, which I believe should begin with the offering of an Omer of wheat and not with an offering of an Omer of barley, as is commonly understood. Further evidence from ancient Judaism and the overall context of Mattityahu (Matthew) Chapters 24-25 strongly supports a Shavuot return for the Mashiach and not a Feast of Trumpets return; though the Feast of Trumpets does in fact have an important role to play in our future. The concept, "No Man Knows the Day or the Hour," is I believe, a signpost to the count of the Omer, which leads up to the festival of Shavuot.

The Term "Rabbi"
Is this a valid term for Messianic Leaders to Use?
How is it that a number of Messianic teachers think that they are able to hoodwink the masses into believing that the term Rabbi somehow equals the general word for Teacher? They think this because they have been taught this wrongly. The word Rabbi is related to the Hebrew word RAV, which means GREAT, NUMEROUS, MANY, MUCH, SUPERIOR, SENIOR, MASTER, GOVERNOR, COMMANDER, CHIEF.
Jerusalem's Sanhedrin:
Is Submission and Obedience Required?
I want to discuss a subject that now appears to be a growing issue among many in the Ephraim/Israelite movement, particularly in North America, but certainly a subject not limited to that geographic location. Quite simply, is Jerusalem's Sanhedrin of 71 Rabbis something that should be obeyed and submitted to in these days in which we live, or is this something that frankly, we should not even reckon with? Put another way, I suppose we should consider asking the question in a different way and with more boldness. Should believers in Yeshua as HaMashiach personally and/or communally through our congregations submit to and obey the Sanhedrin's religious authority and/or legal rulings that it seeks to establish for this generation?
The Aviv Calendar
What is the Aviv, and why is it so important?
According to the Torah (Dt. 16:1, Ex. 13:4, 23:15, 34:18), Pesach (Passover) MUST occur in the month of the Aviv. Furthermore, Ex. 12:2 says that the month in which Pesach occurs is the first month of the year. Therefore, it logically follows that if we don't set the month of Pesach correctly, all of the other Biblical holidays will not be set correctly. This should especially concern us, since the Biblical word for the holidays is "mo'adim," literally, appointments, or appointed times in English.
Paul's Letter to the Galatians
Galatians 2:18-19
Paul was perhaps one of the most brilliant religious thinkers of his day. As it is with many who are brilliant in their thinking and reasoning skills, there is always the possibility that people of this caliber can also be seriously misunderstood by those who do not have the same level of reasoning and brainpower. Certainly, Paul, with his intense intellect (Acts 26:24), was a man born for a unique purpose to help all of us with our learning of the Torah of Life. Consider Acts 21, when Paul stood before James and the elders in Jerusalem, giving testimony about the vast numbers of gentiles who were coming into the faith in Yeshua.

Some Further Notes on The Hebrew Yeshua vs. the Greek Jesus
One of the main claims in the review was that Yeshua upheld the Pharisee Oral Law. This is a common argument put forward by Oral Law-believing Messianics. For example, the following argument is common: Fasting at a Wedding. Yeshua taught it was forbidden to fast in the presence of a bridegroom. The Oral Law supposedly has the same exact prohibition while the Torah does not. Therefore, goes the argument, Yeshua upheld the Oral Law.
